Dream in the Olive Grove

Paintings are so revealing.

As an artist, they are self revelations.

And as a viewer, you can learn so much about yourself if you pay attention to your emotional reaction and intellectual interpretation.

I saw this scene for the first time

on my first painting trip to France in 1995.

I have returned to this spot several times since

and have done several paintings there over the years.

It still holds so much allure and mystery.
